Ongoing Activities

A number of our partners act as School Governors in the local area, one also volunteers at the local Citizens Advice office and two of our senior members of staff have been involved with the Reading & District Hospitals Charity for a number of years.

Our firm was one of the founders of the Reading Professional for Barnardo’s, a group that organises and runs a number of fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for Barnardo’s. Barrett & Co Solicitors have proudly been part of the committee for Reading Professionals for Barnardo’s for the past 10 years.

The Private Client Department participates in a number of Will schemes throughout the course of the year in aid of various charities. We give our time either for a nominal fee or completely without charge.

For a number of years we have participated in Will Aid and Free Wills Month, which are both national campaigns. In addition we are also involved with the Duchess of Kent House Charity Make a Will fortnight and the Naomi House Make Your Will campaigns. The Duchess of Kent House Charity is a hospice near to our office in Reading and Naomi House is a children’s Hospice in Hampshire and we are very pleased support both these worthwhile charities, for which the Wills campaigns raise vital sums every year.

Finally, throughout out the year, the firm seeks opportunities to support charities by entering its fearless quiz team into local quiz evenings in Reading, taking on any of our fellow professionals brave enough to compete against us!
