It's all change in the Private Client team

Our increasingly busy, and therefore ever expanding, Private Client team are pleased to announce two new arrivals to the department (and one on the way!)

Penny MarshallPenny Marshall

We have recently welcomed Penny Marshall as a Paralegal in the team where she is assisting the existing team in all non-contentious matters. Penny is currently working part-time whilst completing her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Reading, and is on track to graduate with a Master’s degree in the summer. Once Penny has completed her studies she will become a full-time member of the team.

Penny studied for her Law Degree at Swansea University before relocating to Reading. Penny has previously volunteered with the National Centre for Domestic Violence and intends to progress her career towards qualifying as a Solicitor.

Outside work, Penny enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Juliette SpannerJuliette Spanner

Juliette is set to join the Private Client team in early March 2020 as a Private Client Associate and is nearing the end of her studies with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.  Juliette specialises in preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, administering estates and Probate, providing Elderly Client advice and Court of Protection work.  Having previously worked at a law firm in Oxford Juliette has experience of working with high net worth individuals and families for tax planning purposes. Juliette also has experience of presenting seminars at care homes and providing training courses for care providers.

Outside of work, Juliette lives in South Oxfordshire and really enjoys yoga, cooking, reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.  Whilst looking for an adventure Juliette climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Sobell House Hospice.

Charlotte Fox (and baby!)

In somewhat bitter sweet news; one of our Private Client Solicitors, Charlotte Fox, is soon to be leaving the team to start Maternity Leave. Charlotte’s last day in the office is scheduled to be Thursday 12th March 2020.

Charlotte is expecting her first baby with her husband, Will, and they are both very excited about the adventure (and challenge!) they are about to start together with their two dogs, Archie and Barney. Needless to say, the Fox household is about to get a whole lot busier!

We are all absolutely delighted for Charlotte and Will and are thrilled to be preparing the next generation of the Barrett & Co family when their baby girl arrives!

If you are an existing client of Charlotte, or have an ongoing matter with her, please be assured that all the team are already familiar with Charlotte’s matters and that she will ensure a detailed handover to the ongoing members of the team; Hilary Buckle, Jane Whitfield and Vanessa Ruparel. Charlotte intends to return to work after Maternity Leave and we look forward to welcoming her back into the office in 2021.

If you have any queries at all in Charlotte’s absence and are unsure with which member of the team you should speak, then please telephone our reception on 0118 958 9711 who will direct you to the correct team member in Charlotte’s absence.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to Penny and Juliette and to wish Charlotte all the best.
