1. How good are my chances of winning my case?

We cannot tell until we have full details of the accident. Usually we can give you a good idea following our initial assessment.

2. Is it likely that my opponent can or will pay even if I win?

Yes, your opponent is almost certainly insured. In a road accident, you will still get your money even if the driver was not insured. In a criminal injury case, payment is made by the state-funded Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.

3. What is the effect of winning on the benefits I am receiving?

Like most things connected with benefits and the DSS, this is complicated. We will discuss this with you, but overall you definitely will not be worse off than you are now.

4. How will I be kept informed about the progress of my case?

It is this firm's policy to respond promptly to phone calls and letters, and to keep you informed of all developments in your case.

5. How long will the claim take to conclude?

This is very difficult to answer at the outset of a claim. It depends on the attitude of the other party's insurers and the severity of your injuries. In a straightforward case where liability is not disputed and your injuries are minor, we would expect a settlement within 6 to 12 months.

6. What is involved in making a claim?

Usually very little as far as you are concerned. We do most of the work for you. You will however need to attend a medical examination.
