Barrett and Co have been established in Reading for over 25 years and in Blewbury, near Didcot for 15 years. Excellent and personalised client service is the focus of the firm and we have a long list of testimonials from a range of loyal clients who appreciate our straight forward approach. Over time, we have gained the trust and respect of many local companies and individuals and we are constantly looking at how we can improve our services still further.

Simon Barrett established the firm in 1981 and now specialises in Company and Commercial matters. In 2002, Simon entered into partnership with Hilary Buckle, who specialises in Wills and Probate, and John Harrison, who is qualified both as a solicitor and an accountant, which adds a further dimension to the firm. Together they promote the firm’s excellent reputation for client service and quality legal advice as well as having a friendly, practical and efficient approach.

The firm is justly proud of its loyal, motivated and experienced staff, (click on Our Team for more details) many of whom have been with the firm for a considerable time which is unusual in today’s changeable marketplace. There is therefore a stability and solidity which underpins the firm as secretaries, solicitors and conveyancers have the quality and experience to help you through your legal issues.

We use up to date technology so we spend more time focused on your requirements. We use computer based case management systems and you can email all staff directly.

Legal matters often appear complex and it is part of the firm’s philosophy to try and avoid jargon and legal terminology in order to help you identify exactly what your options are in language that you can understand.

We offer a wide range of legal services to both corporate clients and private individuals. Our Reading offices are near the town centre and are easily accessible by bus, train and car with conveniently located public car parks as well as a small private car park which can be used by prior appointment. Our office in Blewbury, near Didcot, is easily accessible by car and has parking for clients.
