Jane achieved this qualification through what STEP calls the “Qualified Practitioner Route”, which allows experienced practitioners to demonstrate their knowledge through the submission of three 5000-word essays. The academic standard is similar to writing at masters level.
STEP's vision is to be the pre-eminent worldwide professional association for those advising families across generations. It has grown dramatically from its beginnings as a niche society for UK-based accountants and lawyers working with trusts. Now with more than 20,000 members across the world from a range of professional backgrounds, its emphasis has broadened and trusts are just one part of the wider role its members play in advising families on their long-term wealth planning. It helps families to plan their assets across generations by promoting high professional standards, educating professionals, connecting advisors and families globally and informing public policy.
The TEP qualification is becoming increasingly recognised in wider society, and many clients wishing to use legal services in areas such as wills, probate and trusts are specifically searching for STEP qualified practitioners to advise them. We are proud therefore that our team members, of which Jane is one, have the skills to continue to offer a quality service to our clients.
