According to the organisers there were approximately 150 walkers from about 16 teams who took part in the 10 km route around Reading.
The walk happens every year in Reading and in towns all around the UK to raise money for local advice centres, and more specifically here, in and around the Reading and Thames Valley area. These advice centres assist thousands of vulnerable people who are unable to afford legal assistance and consist of some of the most poor and vulnerable in our area. The funds assist in preventing homelessness, resolving debt related matters, obtaining care for the isolated elderly and disabled and victims of domestic violence and trafficking.
Barrett & Co Solicitors LLP have been proud to take part in this inspiring event for the last four years. Our current fund raising for 2017 stands at £300 (including gift aid). This exceeds the amount raised from last year’s walk by £140.
This year the Barrett & Co team, representing all departments of the firm, consisted of Emma Docking, Megan Aedy, Ailsa Mellan, Cara Thomas, Hilary Buckle, Rob Jefferies, Juliet Parr, Chris Miller, Charlotte Fox, and Eleanor Pearson. The team completed the walk in just shy of an hour and a half.
