Barrett & Co Bake for the Alzheimer’s Society

On Thursday 15th June Barrett and Co took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day which, due to our keen bakers, lasted not one but three days!

Barrett & Co Bake for the Alzheimer’s SocietyOur bakers were; Sandra Cook from our conveyancing department, Lucy Benning and Ellie Pearson two of our Trainee Solicitors, Hilary Buckle and Charlotte Mckenty in our Private Client Department and Jane Whitfield’s husband, Gary, an honorary member of the Barrett and Co team.

Over the three days we raised £67 for the Alzheimer’s Society which is enough to pay for one person with dementia to attend one of their Dementia Cafés for a month, where they can share stories and advice with others and for five people with dementia to attend a Singing for the Brain session – a fun activity that enhances wellbeing and connection through music.

We also have two Dementia Friends in our firm, Hilary Buckle and Jane Whitfield, who are both intending to become Dementia Champions. Charlotte Mckenty is also en route to becoming a Dementia Friend.
